Ani Molnár Gallery, Budapest: Distant Green – Exhibition opening by Péter Gálhidy

December 3 – January 31, 2015

The Ani Molnár Gallery is pleased to present a solo show by Péter Gálhidy

Péter Gálhidy’s solo show entitled ‘Distant Green’ focuses on different manifestations of reality. The exhibited artworks are characterised by unique use of space and form, which manipulate the viewers’ perception of proportion and which provides new understanding for the concept of ‘natural’.The works exhibited at the show may be understood as poems from a poetry book. Each artwork is a unique, working system, yet they may be read as parts of a series as they are all connected through a theme, that is in the case of ‘Distant Green’ playing with the human mind, with perception.

Péter Gálhidy born in 1974, lives and works in Budapest. He graduated from the Hungarian University of Fine Arts in 1999 as a sculptor, where he has been teaching since 2001. He received the Derkovits Scholarship in 2001. He has had exhibitions in well-known Hungarian institutions including the Kunsthalle and he also has international experience. He often uses organic natural motifs and materials in his works.
