Between the 2nd and the 20th of March 2016, Circuit launches the open call for the students of the National University of Arts, Bucharest and young novice writers. The best 19 artists will be selected for teaming up and building the elements of the Circuit universe, which will be put together into an original exhibition designed to promote the participants nationally and create an unique experience to the public.
During a three-month creative and strongly interactive process, taking place in several stages, they will build a complex world from scratch, which tells its own story using more than one artistic language. This will finally turn into a site-specific exhibition – a space-experience – that will initially take place in the capital and afterwards in other 4 important cities of the country – Cluj-Napoca, Timişoara, Sibiu şi Braşov (June-July).
The story of the circuit will be initiated by 8 fashion designers. Each of them will receive the challenge of building a character. They will meet in several creation sessions and put together the first elements of the story. As soon as the characters of the story are ready to be animated, a group of 2 writers will create, in any literary way they consider the best, the story that embodies these 8 characters. Further in the circuit, 2 graphic designers will find the visual expression for exposing the text of the story in the final space, while another group of 3 participants will put the story into illustrations. The circuit will end with a last group of 4 artists, who will create the background of the story with installation-sets. You can find more information on the project’s website: www.art-circuit.com .
You can register by sending a Curriculum Vitae and portfolio to: firstname.lastname@example.org until the 20th of March 2016. The submissions will be selected by a jury composed of: Stela Lie, Sergiu Chihaia, Adrian Saveanu, Mihaela Michailov.
The whole creative process of the Circuit universe and the side events will be resumed in photos and videos available for the audience so that it’s possible to follow the evolution of the artists and works, as much as the transformation of the host-spaces on our website.
