Laura Victoria Delgado – Linda Čihařová – Petra Gupta Valentová
Gallery Vernon, Janáčkovo nábřeží 21, Prague 5
15. 1. – 7. 3. 2015

The first exhibition of 2015 at the Gallery Vernon presents an original multi-spectral show ELEMENTS OVER THE CITIES. There is a connecting line in art of Laura Victoria Delgado, Linda Čihařová and Petra Gupta Valentová lying in a nature and living environment. Each of the artists approaches the topic from own perspective and using own methods – in a spontaneous or scientific way, traditional or modern way, in complexity or as through a microscope. The exhibition displays artist`s drawings, paintings, videos and woodblock prints on silk.

Laura Victoria Delgado (1981) – SPORÁ
Abstract video that recalls the internal processes and structures of a plant – photosynthesis, molecules etc. – from their external appearance by a visual manipulation. From the shadows of real plants using glasses and mirrors the real plant is transformed in abstract images resembling fractals.

Linda Čihařová (1982) – Living Elements
The series of 13 aquarel painting on canvas created by the technique of applying more or less accidental spots in which the artist seeks its spirit and sense afterwards. This gives her freedom to discover stories of her subconsciousness without disturbing its spontaneity.

Petra Gupta Valentová (1974) – Mumbaí Rains
Drawings and woodblock prints on silk form a diary notes from the last few years of traveling between Prague, India and NY, where the artist alternately lives. Drawings are based on henna “tattoos”, “stamp” patterns on silk are based on the classic woodblock printing methods typical for the city of Jaipur in Rajasthan, India.

The opening takes place on Thursday January 15th 2015 at 6 pm at the Gallery Vernon, Janáčkovo nábřeží 21, Prague 5 with the presence of the artists.
